4:30 a.m. on the 18th of December
A very special day we're all certain to remember
A beautiful gift was brought into our lives
A bit sooner than planned, it was an early surprise
Our son Nathan was born, a beautiful boy
From the first hands that held him, he immediately brought joy
Born two months early and about the size of a shoe
Nathan was quickly admitted to the Cedars-Sinai NICU
Amidst the wires and tubes where Nathan called home
For the next month he lived there, he was never alone
The doctors and nurses adopted him - a new son they had
He progressed quite rapidly and even flirted a tad
All the loving support and the good wishes and prayers
To the doctors and nurses who gave him great care
Allowed Nathan to progress with astonishing good health
A healthy boy going home a month early made all our hearts melt
So we bid so long to Cedars-Sinai NICU
On an early evening in February - Nathan said goodbye to his 'crew'
As we were leaving the parking lot a few tears were contained
But looking at Nathan's smile I knew a new family we'd gained
-Thank you to everyone at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
